Kakadu Trips

Hello again,
For those of you looking to make the most of your visit to the top end we thought we should start adding a few "things to do" posts.  And the first is Kakadu.  There are a few ways to do this but for now Ill stick with what we know.
These guys come recommended and do day trips
http://www.lords-safaris.com/
There are plenty of other companies you can find online but as I say, this comes recommended and should hit all the highlights.

If you have a car you can always drive yourself.  The only time we've gone we did the Yellow river morning cruise which involved staying in Cooinda

and woke up for the sunrise tour

With a bit of planning you can also visit a rock art site on the way

Hope this has given people some ideas.  Feel free to shoot us any questions... just be prepared for us not to know the answers.
Anyway stay tuned for some "What to do" updates a little closer to Darwin

Accomodation

Hello again,
This may be a little late as I'm sure some of you have already organised accomodation... But for those who haven't I hope this helps in the search.  Please remember that it is high season in Darwin at the time of the wedding so some things may be booked out before too long if not already.  This list will include everything from backpackers to hotels to apartments. I will give the name and give an address and an internet address and where possible a phone number or other relevant info. Okay, Ill be listing by location so lets start in town. Oh, So I dont have to write it everytime the Darwin Phone code is 08 so when calling interstate remeber to add that.... and a +61 for those calling internationally.

Well There you have it.  I will try and keep the list up to date if I find out any places that are booked out.  If you have trouble with any of these places please let us know and we can remove.  This is only a brief list for you to get an idea of what is available.  Again, please let us know if you find somewhere worth adding to the list.  If nothing here suits your fancy and you dont know what to do next a little trick I use when searching for accomodation in an unknown city is to go to google maps, find the city or specific suburb then type in "Accomodation" and check out the points of interest that are thrown up... You should get a good variety of options that way.  Heres a start, this link shows accomodation around the Sailing Club where the wedding will be, just move the map around to get options in other areas...

Well, hope that helps. Next up we will try and let people know about some of the things they can do while in Darwin... and maybe point out a few car hire places for those looking into that option.
Till then....
